WHAT ARE THE AESTHETIC limits of black beauty? Can a black woman have long straight hair that isn't a weave, or eyes that are green or blue instead of brown? The answers may seem obvious, but these are just two of the questions that preoccupy fans of actress and former beauty queen Kenya Moore, star of TV show Real Housewives Of Atlanta.

IS KENYA MOORE'S HAIR & EYE COLOUR REAL?
Although Moore admits that in the past she has worn weaves and wigs for film roles and photo shoots, her long straight hair is all her own. “I wash it, let it air dry and flat iron it in small sections and use roller sets,” said Moore matter-of-factly. She answered her fans questions about her hair once and for all on a recent appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, inviting the host to “root her” — placing her fingers into Moore's scalp to check that it was all natural, and not a weave. “It's all hers!” Williams proclaimed to the studio audience.
REAL EYES IN COLOR
Moore's naturally hazel eyes are also the subject of the online speculation of fans and haters. Many assume they are really brown, and that she is wearing colored contact lenses to turn them green. Google records 150 searches a month for the term, “Kenya Moore contact lenses”. She shares her eye color with other high profile black celebrities such as Rihanna, Tyra Banks and Leona Lewis.
A TRANSRACIAL PICTURE
All the online queries about Kenya Moore's hair and beauty illustrate both how narrow traditional definitions of black beauty can be in the eyes of many onlookers, and also how transracial modern beauty has become. While many black women like Kenya Moore aspire to having long straight hair, white women aspire to tanned skin and full lips. Beauty values have become an interchangeable kit of parts, available to almost everyone, regardless of ethnicity.
